We are looking forward to welcoming you all back into school in September! The BHIS PTA has been hard at work this summer planning for the school year – read on to learn about some ways to get involved!

School supply drive:

The PTA partners with the teachers at BHIS to gather their school supplies needs, then turns to our community of parents and partners to fundraise the funds needed to cover supplies for the entire school. School supplies are not covered by district funds, and bulk purchasing supports teachers in getting the supplies they need, allows school supplies to be purchased at a preferred rate, and also ensures equity among our students and the supplies each has access to. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to cover supplies. We hope you’ll consider supporting the drive with a donation to the fund. Joining the PTA and Leadership Opportunities

Joining as a PTA member is a way to show your support of BHIS and the work of our teachers. Members receive regular updates with opportunities for involvement, along with a slate of benefits through the Washington State PTA that can be found here.

The PTA is actively seeking parents to join our leadership team! Current open roles include the President (or co-President), Communications Chair, and Fundraising Chair. Please reach out to Eva McMullen, Interim President, if you are interested in ‘saying yes’ to this opportunity! See the PTA Board page for a full list of open positions and a description of the roles.
