On Friday, November 18th the Beacon Hill PTA will host the Readathon. The Readathon is a fun day at school for students, emphasizing the joy and diversity of READING.
Students are invited to wear their pajamas to school for the Readathon. This year we are also thrilled to invite families (parents, caregivers, grandparents, etc) back into the building to read to students. More information on volunteering is coming soon.
The Readathon is also a fundraiser*. Donations go to support each and every Beacon Hill student. Last year’s Readathon donations almost covered the $18,000 school supply cost for this school year. More information on the Readathon is coming next week.
*We’re emphasizing fun, connection, and community-building at this year’s Readathon, and we welcome and encourage family involvement. Beacon Hill PTA is reducing our fundraising to focus more on community engagement and advocacy, but we still want to continue buying school supplies in bulk and providing family support. We will be holding the Readathon as well as a Moveathon in March for our fundraising this year.
